Or so they say. No, really, guifications is one nifty thing. No more need to keep your buddy list on top of everything all the time, taking up precious desktop space. Just let the toaster popups tell you when something happens in IM-land.
It usually catches up real quick with the official gaim builds, and it's packaged for a shitload of distributions. I package it for IRIX whenever I see a chance to fiddle with it. Luckily it's extra clean ANSI C code so it doesn't require even a single tweak to get it to build with MIPSPro.
