Gaim or gaim, not GAIM or gAIM

Gaim: A multi-protocol instant messaging (IM) client. Or so the website tells us. A real nifty app too - and with the current MSN whoreing all over the windows world, one has to follow. All protocols you want and more: Gaim's your man.

Sure, there's alternatives. But dear god, just look at them... it appears as if they're trying real hard to imitate the horrible ugliness of the official client. And they're actually succeeding at that too.

Hence: Gaim all the way, on all machines. With (a shitload of) help from countless people in #gaim, #guifications and #nekochan, I got it running on IRIX and HPUX, which is a Good ThingĀ® for a unix geek like me.

Packageisms.

In the meantime I hacked up an IRIX package for gaim. It's a MIPSPro optimized build of beta3, and all dependencies (and this package itself too) can be found in the Nekochan mirrors. Like all packages on nekochan, you'll need a R5000 cpu or higher, and IRIX 6.5.22 or better.

BETA SOFTWARE CAN KILL YOUR PET HAMSTER. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
