I'm not much of an allround coder. I am, however, not too bad at Java. The former is usually accepted, the latter is usually enough reason to get shit from all sides in OSS zealot town. JAVA IS N0T FREE N OPNE SOURCEZ!!1! Well, see me care a lot.
Apart from coding Java - using the latest Sun Java, by the way; honestly, which alternative doesn't suck huge, sweaty hippo genitals? - I'm usually screwing around in a load of different languages.
Most of the time it's just hacking existing code, as I'm not always capable of writing stuff from scratch - but it'll do. I can handle C, C++, perl, python, tcl, prolog, haskell and such.
Oh, I'd almost forget Ada. Sexiest multithreaded language around, lightyears ahead of any other. Rawr.
Gaimisms.
Apart from my university code, most of my energy is used to hump Gaim and its plugins. Porting it to other platforms, etc, etc... $random_deity knows I bugged people in #gaim enough for that! But hey, who wouldn't want to run Gaim on his IRIX?
Guifications is another sexy Gaim plugin thang that just begs to be run on whatever machine you are working on. Go download it.
Javaisms, revisited
Turns out that Sun opensourced Java under the GPL at last. HAH! FUCK YOU, ZEALOT KIDDIES! This being said: Good job. With a bit of luck we'll get a more recent java VM on IRIX now too... *dreams on*
